Abstract:
At the guidance of “one country two systems” strategic thinking, Hong Kong and Macao's return to the motherland successfully, which opened up the new era of “Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong, Macao people governing Macao”. After more than ten years, Hong Kong and Macau have made great progress through the progressive development of democracy in the framework of “one country two systems”. The way of life will be close to each other in 50 years after Hong Kong and Macau’s return. However, political system will not change, that is, mainland will keep the socialist political system. Just from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau’s political and social stability, especially from the stable relationship between the three places, “one country two systems” will be lasted after the return for 50 years, and Hong Kong and Macau will continue to have their own special political system. At the same time, mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao’s political development will be advanced progressively and keep mutual compatibility. It is very important for the long-term political development, political stability, and political integration in the Greater China (including Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). It maybe happen some potential troubles in the process. However, as long as we can adopt a right strategy, a positive attitude, and a flexible method to promote political development from now on, all the problems can be completely overcome.
